The videos above represent a small part of the largely experimental film work I’ve engaged in, sometimes for film festivals and sometimes for art galleries
I have worked in independent film since 1999. This has been a labour of both love and hate, in that I love film but detest the film industry.
Those credits represent less than 2% of my actual work and output.
My largest body of work is as a screenwriter. That part of my professional life is really difficult to write about coherently. On the one hand, very little of what I have written has ever made it into production. Yet, at the same time, my scripts are well respected. For example, my last script in at BBC drama was one of 3000 submitted and was shortlisted into the final twenty. I also write a column for Scriptmag on alternative approaches to writing and production.
I also co-created and founded UK Cine Fest.
UK CIne Fest is a new, student, free-to-enter, student film festival. A project I created with cinematographer Andy Harrison, to encourage student filmmakers to enter and participate in film festivals early in their development.
